Who we are
Confetti Antiques was established as a sole proprietorship in August of 1994 in Spanish Fork, Utah by Donald and Kara Morris. The original location was in a historic Victorian home built in 1895, in the heart of Spanish Fork.
Confetti Antiques was originally operated by Kara, with Donald assisting part-time. The main focus of the business was to provide a wide array of antiques, furniture, and collectibles for the local market in Utah County. At that time, there was only one other similar type of store within the city of Spanish Fork.
We wanted to provide a nice, clean retail store with good quality antiques and collectibles at fair prices. We also saw the need to provide appraisal services, and purchasing of estates and antiques from individuals at fair market prices. At the time Confetti was established, there was a shortage of Antique stores that provided these services in the local community.
After being in business for four years, we wanted to expand the business to be larger and more comprehensive. In June of 1998, we decided to market some of our products on the internet through eBay Auctions and wanted to expand our retail area. In August of 1998, we leased a Main Street retail storefront one block south of the original location so we could expand the business. This location served well for over 4 years. This location provided better access, better visibility, expanded parking, and more room for expansion.
We wanted to include early Mormon and Utah books and documents, photography, signatures, artwork, and other Western Americana items to the public through this new location as well as the other items in the antiques and collectibles market. This new retail location was stocked over the next year with better quality and quantity merchandise, and the out-of-print and rare book area was established. As we expanded and grew, we began to do more online auctions and sales, established a website www.confettiantiques.com, and began to sell on several book websites, including this www.confettibooks.com.
The kids are always a part of the business. Each doing his or her part to help out. You might find the littlest one helping clean windows or maybe just being cute.
After being in business for over nine years in Spanish Fork, Confetti Antiques and Books has grown yet again. A larger storefront was desperately needed. The perfect building was found and acquired back close to the original location. This new location is a Historic Main Street building that was built circa 1900. It is very close to where the original location of the store was. This building would more than double the current space, with over 11000 square feet of space. It also provides a large parking area in the rear of the building for exclusive use by Confetti. This will be our last move??? Always a question. Maybe someday a second location.
