Society of St. Vincent de Paul,
St. Ann Conference, Haines City, FL

Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederick, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.  Vincentians are united in an international society of charity by their spirit of poverty, humility, and sharing which is nourished in prayer and reflection. The Society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, making no distinction to those served, because in them, Vincentians see the Face of Christ.

In existence for over sixteen years, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, St Ann Conference located in Haines City, has given food, financial assistance, and clothing to the poor not only in Haines City, but in surrounding communities such as Davenport, Dundee, Lake Hamilton, Loughman, Lake Alfred, Lake Wales, and Poinciana.  Most of the people helped are not Catholic, but Vincentians believe they help people not because they are Catholic, but because we are Catholic.

We helped more than 17,250 in 2015 and our numbers continue to grow each year. We fed more than 12,312 people, provided financial assistance to an estimated 398 people, and helped clothe over 3500 people.  Our Angel Tree program provided Christmas gifts for 452 children and school supplies were given to nearly 400 students. We are funded primarily by St. Ann parishioners, fundraising by other St. Ann ministries, and our annual Walk for the Poor.

We are located at 1001 S. 10th Street, behind St. Ann Catholic Church and are open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from noon until 2:30.  We are a non-profit, volunteer organization of 45 active members, some are seasonal volunteers, and most are 40 years of age and over.  We welcome anyone who would like to help the poor, either in our pantry or with our Walk for the Poor. Organizations who would like to sponsor fundraising activities on our behalf are encouraged to contact us.
