Loon Lake Lodge

Loon Lake Lodge, located in Eugene, Oregon, has a rich history dating back over 1,400 years. The formation of Loon Lake was the result of a major landslide in the coast range of western Oregon, creating a stunning natural wonder. The area was first inhabited by Native American tribes who traveled to Ash Valley for camping, gathering huckleberries, and hunting elk. In 1850, the lake was discovered by two men following Indian trails and named after the common Loon duck.

Throughout the years, Loon Lake has evolved into a popular recreational destination. From storing logs for transportation to becoming a beloved family recreation area in the 1960s, the lake offers a wide range of activities such as camping, picnicking, hunting, fishing, water-skiing, sunbathing and swimming. The natural setting among large Douglas-Fir trees and Western Hemlock provides an ideal backdrop for outdoor adventures.

Loon Lake Lodge offers various services including lodging options, camping facilities, deli and store access, gas station amenities, boat launch and rental services as well as ice and firewood provisions. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or planning a one-day visit with your family or friends, our lodge is open year-round to accommodate all your needs.
