The Lancaster / Northumberland Habitat for Humanity has been a Northern Neck staple for two decades. Serving families in need of quality housing both in Lancaster and Northumberland Count; we give our neighbors in need a hand up, not a hand out.  At Lancaster/ Northumberland Habitat for Humanity our vision is for a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Our mission is to put God's love into action.  Lancaster / Northumberland Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.                                              
Volunteers provide most of the labor, and churches, individuals, corporate donors and other organizations provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Habitat provides a hand up not a hand out. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor, called “sweat equity”, into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving fund that is used to build more homes.
We are building community, one home at a time.
