About Berger Memorial Chapel

Berger Memorial Chapel has served the St. Louis Jewish community since 1896, providing compassionate, professional and personal guidance and support to area families in times of need. In October 2013, Berger Memorial Chapel made its fourth move in its 118-year history from St. Louis’ Central West End to Olivette, a more-convenient location for many of the families we serve.

We offer a full range of traditional funeral services to meet the needs of the families we serve—at our chapel, at a local temple or synagogue or at one of the six Jewish cemeteries in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area. We also offer pre-planned and pre-paid funeral services, and provide assistance to families seeking information regarding Jewish funeral services in areas outside of St. Louis.

A proud member of the Dignity Memorial® network since 1993, Berger Memorial Chapel remains a locally managed and operated funeral home. Richard W. Stein, and his daughter, Emily Stein MacDonald, represent the fourth and fifth generations to extend the tradition and legacy of the family-operated business. The Berger Memorial Chapel staff remain committed to the St. Louis Jewish community and the families we serve.
