River Counties Community Foundation was established in 1996 to enhance the quality of life in Lancaster, Middlesex, and Northumberland Counties by working with local donors to build the philanthropic capital that supports current and future needs of the region. We make giving simple, flexible, and cost-effective; ensure that the charitable intent of our donors will be met in perpetuity; and serve as effective stewards of our philanthropic assets.

RCCF is guided by a local advisory board that oversees the allocation of funds to local nonprofits with the most clearly defined needs, and the ones with the ability to best impact the lives of our residents. RCCF is one of three affiliates supported by the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond. As an extension of their mission to serve, engage and inspire people through philanthropy, the affiliate program was developed to help smaller, rural communities encourage local giving to address their own unique needs.
