City of Poulan
Home

Poulan, Georgia is a small, safe, and family-oriented-community located in Southwest Georgia. We are dedicated to our communities needs and strive to offer exceptional services. Poulan was established in 1899 and was at one time a busy cotton mill town. Long ago, there was once a bank and pharmacy which are still standing on Broad Street in Poulan. Poulan is also home to the only two historical registered properties in Worth County, which are the Poulan Library and Possum Poke.

Possum Poke, located on Possum Lane in Poulan, was at one time home to the late Michigan Governor Chase S. Osborne.

Poulan was settled in around 1877 along the Brunswick and Albany railroad. The city was named for Judge W.A. Poulan.
