The First United Methodist Church of Springfield operates a community food pantry serving families in Sarpy and Cass counties. This initiative is a true community effort, powered entirely by volunteers and supported by various local churches, schools, organizations, and businesses. The pantry aims to serve local families with dignity, compassion, and community support, providing food assistance to those in need.

It offers general pantry items without an income requirement, ensuring all are welcome, and also provides USDA commodities for individuals who meet federal eligibility guidelines. The pantry has grown significantly, currently assisting 112 registered families.
