Mt. Zion District Library
Nestled within the heart of Mt. Zion, the Mt. Zion District Library stands as a cornerstone of knowledge and community enrichment. With a proud heritage of serving a population base of 12,479, as indicated by the last census, our library offers a diverse collection of over 50,000 items, spanning from print books to DVDs and VHS tapes. As proud members of the Illinois Heartland Library System, we are committed to ensuring that every patron finds what they seek; should it not be on our shelves, our dedicated staff will readily place requests or locate materials from our extensive statewide network.
Since November 2021, our library has flourished under the guidance of a passionate team of 5 full-time staff members and 5 part-time staff, all dedicated to fulfilling our mission. Our mission statement underscores our commitment to providing the community with access to a balanced collection of materials, services, and programming tailored to meet educational, cultural, and recreational needs. At the core of our vision lies a commitment to nurturing an educated, enlightened, and enriched community, fostering a haven where knowledge thrives and minds are inspired.
