The Johnstown Symphony Orchestra fosters an environmental context for creativity and connection to community for people from all walks of life through music. We believe the experience of music and other outlets for self-expression are basic human needs, to which everyone should have access. JSO forges innovative programs and services to reinvent and rediscover music in our communities. Through creative place-making and meaningful partnerships, we strive to build economic strength and social connections. 

Established in 1929 and with roots in the ethnic club scene of early Johnstown, the JSO's mission is to uplift our community by engaging the public through music. The JSO actively pursues collaborations and opportunities to engage in conversation with neighboring no-profits and service organizations to understand the problems in our region and work toward solutions.
